Welcome and My International Experience

(Compulsory for New International Students) Adjusting to university and living in Australia may be challenging for students relocating to Western Australia, as different customs, rules and laws may apply that can make your stay more difficult if you are not aware of them.

My International Day provides you with vital information about studying in Australia, satisfying the conditions of your student visa, adjusting to the Australian culture, finding your way around your area, as well as receiving advice on other services to help you adjust to your new home. This is also a great opportunity to get to know other new students

11am-12noon

Using the Computer Lab,  SIMO, TurnitIn, Blackboard and other university systems

There are many new systems and services that you will need to use during your time at ECU such as SIMO, Blackboard and the Student Portal. You will get to know SIMO and BLACKBOARD in this essential session. We will help you learn what is available, where to find these systems and how to use them to manage your study needs.

12noon-1pm

Intro to Uni and Library Tour OR Business Induction Session

Cyber Security Students will learn about the academic skills needed to succeed while studying at university, and discover how to find many resources on offer in the library. While Business students find out more about their course.

1pm-2pm

Lunch, Meeting Your Fellow Students and Community Information

Share a light lunch while finding out information about local community services including medical, counselling, career and social events.

1pm-2pm

Intro to Uni and Library Tour OR Cyber Induction Session

Business Students will learn about the academic skills needed to succeed while studying at university, and discover how to find many resources on offer in the library. While Cyber Security students find out more about their course.

2pm-3pm

Student Individual Consultation Sessions and Student IDs

Get your individual questions answered, log in to complete your International Online Induction, and have your photo taken for your Student ID to be delivered the following week.
