Premier Colin Barnett was a special guest at the Mount Lawley campus on Tuesday, 4 November. Mr Barnett became the second WA Premier in less than 6 months to visit the School of Communications and Arts. In May, then Premier Alan Carpenter also came to speak with the students from the postgraduate WAAPA Broadcasting Course.

Students also got to see the Premier in action with an impromptu press conference held outside the lecture theatre with veteran reporters Peter Kennedy and Geof Parry.

The students were able to ask any questions they liked, and the Premier answered with candour and warmth.

WAAPA Broadcasting coordinator, Peter Holland, said the Premier was very generous with his time.

"It was great for the students to meet him in such an intimate setting," he said.
