Opened this week, ECU's new Centre for Learning and Development will support University staff to perform their roles in the most efficient and effective way.

Incorporating the former Centre for Learning and Teaching and Professional Development, the Centre is made up of teams in the following areas:

  • Organisational Development;
  • Academic Excellence;
  • Learning Solutions; and
  • Alternative pathways for students through the University Preparation Course (UPC).

Staff in the newly created Centre will work with faculties and centres to provide relevant and leading edge organisational development, research training, leadership training, and learning support and design.

Newly appointed team leaders include Associate Professor Tony Fetherston in Academic Excellence, Dr Jim Mullaney in Learning Solutions, and Trish Popov for pathways through the UPC. The team leader for organisational development is yet to be confirmed.

Professor Sue Stoney, who will head up the new Centre, says it will help ensure ECU staff have access to the most appropriate development and learning support to help them undertake their work.
