Executive Dean of the Faculty of Education and Arts, Professor Brenda Cherednichenko, visited the Ministry of Education, Malaysia earlier this week to support one of ECU’s newest collaborative education partnerships.

Professor Greg Robson, Head of the School of Education and Associate Professor Gensheng Shen, Associate Dean (International) of the Faculty of Education and Arts also attended the visit.

This partnership was first launched in August when the Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin visited ECU.

Professor Cherednichenko met with Datin Asariah Binti Mior Shaharuddin, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Education, Malaysia to discuss collaboration and working together on teacher development, teaching English and improving education outcomes in rural and remote areas.

Professor Cherednichenko said there are a number of opportunities for future co-operation between the two institutions.

“There are a number of joint projects we are hoping to implement that will support teachers in Malaysia and provide a range of opportunities for ECU staff to share their expertise.”
