His Excellency Da'i Bachtiar appointed as Adjunct Professor in Security and Counter-Terrorism

Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Tan Sri Da’i Bachtiar AO has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor of Security and Counter-Terrorism in the School of Computer and Security Science.

Da’i was awarded the professorship based on his experience in maintaining Indonesia’s national security and his efforts in curbing violence while serving as Indonesia’s Police Chief between 2001 and early 2009.

A ceremony to mark the extended appointment of His Excellency Tan Sri Da’i Bachtiar was held on Monday, 26 October at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Kerry Cox and the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Penny Williams.

Professor Cox said the University is honoured to have His Excellency Tan Sri Da’i Bachtiar as an Adjunct Professor of ECU in the significant area of Counter-Terrorism and Security.
