Mental Health Workshop for staff

All staff are invited to attend a Mental Health Workshop that has been designed to provide ECU staff, both general and academic, with information and advice which will assist them in supporting students and colleagues with mental health issues.

The workshop has been developed in response to staff requests for information, advice and support in this area.

When: 12:00pm to 3:30pm on Monday, 2 November 2009
Where: Building 15 Room 127 (Kurongkurl Katitjin, Art Gallery)
RSVP: Please register online (a light luncheon will be provided)

Topics covered in the workshop include:

  • Introduction to Mental Health
  • Common Mental Health Problems and Presentations
  • Engagement and Management Strategies
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Referral Pathways
  • ECU’s Approach

The workshop is being conducted by Mr Richard Bostwick and Dr Michael Monisse-Redman, from ECU’s School of Nursing, Midwifery and Post Graduate Medicine.

Richard and Michael have considerable experience in the area of mental health and played a key role in the establishment of the much acclaimed Fremantle headspace initiative.
