Pride Month at ECU

Pride month is celebrated in Western Australia each year during October to encourage the cultural expression and support the rights and freedoms of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people living in Western Australia.
ECU prides itself in creating and supporting a diverse and contemporary learning and working environment for its students and staff where diversity and difference are respected.
Free Film Event at Joondalup Campus
Students and staff are invited to attend a lunch time screening of the 1984 documentary, The Times of Harvey Milk.
Directed by Rob Epstein with Harvey Fierstein, Anne Kronenberg, Tory Hartmann, Tom Ammiano and Harvey Milk, The Times of Harvey Milk charts the political rise and brutal slaying of the first openly gay city official in the United States, Harvey Milk.

Free Film Event at ECU South West
All students and staff are also invited to attend an evening screening of “The Laramie Project”, based on the true story of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student from Laramie.
The distinguished cast includes Dylan Baker, Steve Buscemi, Peter Fonda, Janeane Garofolo, Laura Linney, Amy Madigan, Camryn Manheim, Christina Ricci, and Frances Sternhagen.
