Vice-Chancellor meets with South West Principals

Friday, 30 October 2009

Principals from South West High Schools gathered at ECU South West in the new Interprofessional Learning Centre for lunch with Vice-Chancellor Professor Kerry Cox yesterday.

Principals came from as far as Harvey, Nannup and Busselton to meet with the Vice-Chancellor and other ECU representatives to learn more about ECU’s pathways and programs.

Professor Donna Cross, internationally-renowned researcher on children’s health issues, gave a presentation on some of the current projects she is working on regarding the safety and health of children, especially the growing issue of cyber-bullying in and out of schools.

Following the lunch, Principals had the opportunity to attend a workshop with Professor Cross about school policies and cyber-bullying.

The event also gave Principals a chance to tour the teaching and research facilities at ECU South West.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Kerry Cox said the day was a great success in fostering engagement and building relationships with South West High Schools.
