A group of 20 Chinese Occupational, Safety and Health delegates came to ECU Joondalup this week to learn more about the University’s strong track record in safety in the workplace.

ECU was selected by the safety regulator WorkSafe as the only university in Western Australia to be included in the tour.

The directors and senior managers are all from the Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Work Safety, which is the equivalent of WorkSafe in Western Australia.

Raymond Bernstein Director of HR Services says ECU is very proud of its safety record and is pleased to have this opportunity to share with other organisations around the world.

“In 2008 we under took a benchmarking project relating to safety with universities across Australasia and ranked third in the overall report - a great achievement.”

“Well done to Mike Gavin our OSH Manager and his team who have greatly improved the safety culture within ECU over the past 15 years and to all the volunteer OS&H representatives who do a terrific job to make sure we can all go home safe.”
