ECU Vice-Chancellor Professor Kerry Cox was pleased to welcome the Chancellor of the International University of Kagoshima (IUK) Mr Sadatoshi Tsumagari to ECU last week.

The Chancellor’s visit follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ECU and IUK earlier this year.

Chancellor Tsumagari was in Perth as part of a delegation from the City of Kagoshima, Japan to celebrate the 35 year anniversary of the Perth-Kagoshima Sister City relationship.

Whilst the sister city relationship has facilitated numerous secondary school exchanges, the ECU-IUK link is the first major link at the tertiary level.

ECU looks forward to working together with IUK on a range of education, research and cultural exchange opportunities.
