Professor Colleen Hayward to speak on UN Human Rights Day

Head of Kurongkurl Katitjin, Professor Colleen Hayward, will give the Huelin Memorial Lecture for the United Nations (UN) Association of Western Australia to mark UN Human Rights Day this Thursday.

Professor Hayward’s speech, titled Human Rights and Australia’s Indigenous People, will draw on her extensive experience in a range of areas including health, education, training, employment and housing.

For more than 30 years, Professor Hayward has provided significant input to policies and programs on a wide range of issues, reflecting the needs of minority groups at community, state and national levels.

The Huelin Memorial Lecture is a free community event. The lecture starts at 6.00pm on Thursday, 10 December at the State Library Theatrette. Please register with the United Nations Association of WA on 9221 9455 or email unaawa@tpg.org.au
