Abigail Lewis, newly appointed Speech Pathology Clinical Coordinator at ECU, was presented with an Excellence Award for outstanding contribution to early intervention in Western Australia by the Early Childhood Intervention Association (ECIA) last month.

Abigail was nominated for her efforts to raise awareness of the needs parents with learning difficulties through the Healthy Start initiative.

Healthy Start is an Australia-wide strategy to support parents with learning difficulties and promote a healthy start to life for their young children.

Abigail has played a major role in the implementation of the program as joint State Leader and now as a hub convenor.

Abigail also produces an Autism Services Directory each year to assist families as they seek to understand the complexities of autism services in Western Australia.
