Mental Health Week events at ECU

Many of us rush around and try to cram more and more into each day, so why not get involved in Stress-Less Day at ECU and take some well deserved time out to preserve your mental health.

A range of activities for students and staff to help relax and de-stress will be held at ECU in and around Mental Health Week. Organised by the World Federation of Mental Health and held annually from 4 – 10 October, the week aims to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and wellbeing.

Stress-Less Day

A range of different de-stress activities and advice will be available for students and staff, in conjunction with ECU Occupational Therapy students. Activities will include free massages, competitions, goodie bags, a free sausage sizzle and much more. No need to register.

When: 11.30am to 2.30pm on Wednesday, 7 October

Mental Health the GROW Way and Book Launch for Mummy Always Comes Back

This event combines a presentation by Michelle Fiarenza, from GROW South West and the launch of a new book, Mummy Always Comes Back, about a mother’s personal journey with Post Natal Depression by Cath Billi.

Becoming more positive can have a real impact on many aspects of our lives. Take this opportunity at a free interactive information session, courtesy of HBF, to gain some insight on the role of our thoughts and their part in our health and wellbeing. Gain useful advice on how you can change your life and your point of view.

Keeping the Mind Alert – Improve Your Concentration
If you have trouble concentrating or staying ‘on task’ come along to this session to learn a range of strategies and practices you can employ to increase your focus and concentration.
