ECU Broadcasting student finalist in prestigious national award

ECU Broadcasting student Ann Jones is a finalist in the National Media Super Student Journalist of the Year Awards
Congratulations to ECU Broadcasting student, Ann Jones, who was named one of three finalists in the National Media Super Student Journalist of the Year Awards, for her radio story, Chile Emergency Measures.
The award is the student equivalent of the prestigious Walkley Award which recognises excellence in Australian journalism, and is open to all students in communications and media related courses throughout Australia.
Broadcasting lecturer, Jo McManus, said Ann’s nomination is an excellent achievement.
“To make it to the final three in this award is a fantastic effort.
“Ann is an outstanding student and whether she wins or not, we are very proud of her."
Ann is currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Broadcasting and hopes to develop a successful career in the field.
The winner of the awards will be announced at the 2010 Young Australian Journalist of the Year Awards on June 23 in Sydney.
