ECU presented the Educate! Edith Cowan University Award to Holly Ransom on Friday, 16 July at the 2010 WA Youth Awards ceremony, held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex.

Presented by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Equity, Indigenous and Engagement), Professor Brenda Cherednichenko, the award recognises young people’s contribution to the community in the form of education and community participation.

Holly is involved in a number of community projects and organisations, including Teach for Australia, Inspire Foundation and Women Who Lead and was one of the youngest delegates invited to participate in the 2020 Summit in Canberra.

Holly was commended not only for her professional enthusiasm but also for her sense of humour and friendly nature, making her a fantastic role model for young West Australians.

Professor Brenda Cherednichenko congratulated Holly on receiving the award.

“All the young people nominated for this award were outstanding educators and role models, and Holly’s inspired commitment to young people and the community, as well as her own learning is an exceptional achievement”

“We are pleased to be involved in the WA Youth Awards, and hope to continue to award young Australians for their outstanding contributions to the WA community,” said Professor Cherednichenko.
