United States Consul, Mr Neal Vermillion, visited ECU on Thursday, 8 July as part of the Faculty of Business and Law's International Business Study Tour program.
Themed the Asia-Pacific Connection, the International Business Study Tour program sees students from various American universities visiting both Perth and Singapore over a three-week period.
During their visit to Perth, the nine American students from the program were joined by three ECU Bachelor of Business students and enjoyed a guest presentation from the Consul. The presentation covered topics such as Australia and US relations, employment, immigration, climate change, and how these issues affect developing business relationships between the two countries and their individual relationships with other countries.
The students also visited a number of Perth landmarks including Caversham Wildlife Park and the Swan Valley and were treated to a special boomerang throwing session from Kurongkurl Katitjin’s Cultural Awareness Officer, Jason Barrows.
Associate Professor from the Faculty of Business and Law, Gary Chittick, delivered a number of lectures to the students during their visit to ECU and believes the program provides a wonderful opportunity for students.
“It has been a fantastic experience for the students, who have embraced the learning opportunities and shown keen business insight from an international perspective.”
