Congratulations to ECU commerce students Kristina Babic and Darcy Johnstone, who participated in the 2010 Deloitte Dream Team competition at the beginning of August.

Deloitte Dream Team is an annual inter-university competition that sees students compete in university teams to solve realistic business problems and scenarios, with students who perform well given the opportunity to complete a paid summer internship with Deloitte.

Now in its sixth year, the competition saw 12 university teams take on the fictitious profile of a joint venture participant in a large oil and gas project.

They were tasked with developing crisis management plans, corporate governance, corporate communications and financial strategies.

Faculty of Business and Law Coordinator, Mrs Janet Simmons, congratulated the ECU students on their efforts in the competition.

“Although ECU didn’t win, the students performed amazingly well, and were great ambassadors for the University.

“ECU came extremely close, with only a handful of points between first and fifth place, with many students now earmarked for Deloitte vacation placements,” said Ms Simmons.
