Due to a delay in the commencement of the car park construction project ECU, in conjunction with Replants.com will be selling grass trees to staff, students and members of the community this weekend for the second and final time from Saturday, 11 to Sunday, 12 December from 9.00am – 3.00pm.
The available trees are a result of clearing on the Joondalup Campus which is taking place to make way for a new car park, with 30 trees being moved and replanted around the Campus and 70 trees up for sale to the general public.
Trees are priced by trunk height and start from $50, are in good condition with most under one metre trunk height. Trees come with planting instructions and online and phone support is available.
Grounds Services Manager, Mr Carl Overbye encourages staff to support this environmentally friendly ECU initiative.
“ECU is committed to maintaining environmentally sustainable procedures whenever changes are made to the campus grounds.”
“Through Replants.com, ECU is engaging in best practice land clearing which will benefit the whole community. These grass trees are in good condition and in buying a tree you are getting a valuable native plant and supporting the environment,” said Mr Overbye.
Replants.com is also offering staff and students a 10 per cent discount to ensure all trees are saved.
