ECU is committed to social justice and addressing the issues of disadvantage. With this commitment in mind, we are proud to announce the launch of the 2011-2012 Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

The RAP has been developed, following a journey of critical reflection and consultation across all areas of ECU and the communities we serve. The action plan provides ECU with a vehicle for translating Indigenous Australian commitments into action.

This important plan has been developed in a collaborative manner and in partnership with our Indigenous Australian communities, ensuring the spirit of cooperation and reconciliation, and therefore providing an independent and public verification of our contribution to ‘closing the gap’.

The RAP launch event is open to all staff and students at ECU and provides a significant opportunity for all parties to reflect and hear about how we can all contribute to the ongoing process of reconciliation.
