Online hepatitis resource
Friday, 27 May 2011
Edith Cowan University and the WA Department of Health have developed a free online resource on hepatitis.
Untreated, chronic hepatitis can lead to liver failure and liver cancer, yet only a minority of people with hepatitis B and C access treatment.
The WA Department of Health has funded ECU's Systems Intervention Research Centre for Health (SIRCH) to create the e-learning resource. The learning programs are targeted at health professionals and students and will also be of interest to the general public.
The programs provide access to current knowledge and best practice relating to hepatitis B and C.
Initial feedback about the resource has been overwhelmingly positive and the programs have received accreditation from a number of health professional bodies already.
