Hugh Dunn with school principals in the Malting and Brewing Research Education Facility at ECU
More than 30 secondary school principals from around Perth visited ECU’s Joondalup Campus for a lunch event that fostered an exchange of ideas from both principals and University staff.
The principals heard from Heads of Schools, learned about ECU’s Curriculum 2012 and received a preview of the latest courses, including the Sports Science program specialising in soccer.
For ECU staff, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Kerry Cox, the event was a valuable chance to talk with principals and learn how the University can better engage with students.
The principals toured the Malting and Brewing Research Education Facility, which recently became home to a national pilot malting facility in partnership with the WA Department for Food and Agriculture. They also toured the Degrees Restaurant, which during semester is a fully operational restaurant staffed by Bachelor of Hospitality Management students.
A similar event will be held at the South West (Bunbury) Campus in August.
