    Start your learning journey with ECU's Open Days

If you’ve got questions about your future, find your answers at an ECU Open Day.

The event is free, so why not come along and visit our inspirational campus environment, cutting-edge facilities and student accommodation.

Future students can speak to staff and current students about ECU courses, chat one-on-one with lecturers and go behind-the-scenes to see ECU’s world-class learning facilities.

There is fun for the whole family, from entertainment and interactive displays, talks and career advice and a chance to explore our state-of-the art facilities. There are also a range of amazing prizes to be won, courtesy of ECU and Nova, with Nova broadcasting live at the Joondalup and Mount Lawley Campus throughout the day.

There is sometimes so much to see that a little strategic planning can be useful, which is why this year ECU is launching the Open Day Online Planner, which allows you to plan your Open Day experience before the event.

The planner has a number of unique features, including customising your Open Day timetable by choosing events which tie into your study area of interest. You can then share your timetable amongst Facebook friends and fellow tweeters before the event.

Personalising your activities and study genres ensures you tailor your day to what you want to study and get the most out your Open Day experience.

Some of the key highlights at this year’s events include:

  • Microbrewery tours at ECU’s Degrees Brewery (Joondalup);
  • Adventures in physics demonstrations: come into the Physics lab and get your hands dirty (actually no dirt involved!). Get hands-on experience playing with physics experiments covering everyday phenomena, such as how sunglasses work, human motion, falling under gravity, and the physics of music (Joondalup) ; and
  • A vast array of performances from ECU’s West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAPPA) students (Mount Lawley).

Open day at the Joondalup Campus is held on Sunday, 31 July 2011 and at the Mt Lawley Campus (including WAPPA) on Sunday, 7 August 2011. Both Open Days run from 10am to 4pm.
