ECU student looks to UK for career boost
Wednesday, 27 July 2011
Congratulations to Bachelor of Creative Industries student, Nikki Walling, who has recently been shortlisted as a finalist in the myOE Free UK Competition.
Open to university students across Australia and New Zealand, the competition encourages final year students to submit an application, explaining why working overseas will benefit their careers.
The top student from each university was then flown to Fiji, where they were interviewed by a panel of judges. Students then returned home, where they will have three weeks of campaigning to win public votes and win one of three paid scholarships to live and work in the UK.
“I place a high level of value on the experience of my three years at ECU and I would love to be given the opportunity to take part in this life-changing scholarship,” said Nikki.
“A scholarship to live and work in the UK for two years would be a dream come true!”
Nikki now joins a handful of finalists from across Australia who are vying for the prize. The scholarship winner will be determined by a mixture of public votes and the judges’ decision.
