Thursday, 28 July 2011
The award is given to a nurse who is making an outstanding contribution to professional excellence in their nursing practice and who demonstrates commitment to one or more professional organisations, including active participation in a leadership role.
Gertrude Berber conducted pioneering and volitionary work in nurse education throughout her life and this award commemorates the significant contribution she made to this area of expertise.
“This award has shown me that ordinary people can be recognised for their work and achievements. I especially want to thank NurseWest and my family for all their help and support with this,” Ms Teale said.
Ms Teale travelled to Sydney in an all expenses paid trip as part of her prize to accept the award at the annual RCNA conference.
