Congratulations to Master of Exercise Science: Strength and Conditioning Course Coordinator, Dr Greg Haff, who recently won a prestigious sports science award.

The National Strength and Conditioning Association's (NSCA's) William J. Kraemer Outstanding Sports Scientist Award recognises a scientist who has made a substantial contribution to the general field of exercise and sport science within, as well as outside, the NSCA.

"I am deeply honored, humbled and excited to receive this award,” said Dr Haff.

“This award represents not only the years of research I have conducted in the field of exercise and sports science but also the dedicated efforts of many students and colleagues."

Greg also recently received a USD$46,385 NSCA International Collaboration Grant which will enable his research group to examine various sequential models of training and the physiological adaptations that occur.

“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to explore this innovative research grant,” said Dr Haff.

“The project is particularly exciting because it will give researchers from ECU and Appalachian State University in the United States an opportunity to collaborate on a very exciting and important research question.”
