Last weekend saw ECU’s Joondalup Campus take centre stage after coming first in the 2011 Sports Regional Challenge, narrowly defeating the University of Notre Dame.

Hosted by ECU, in partnership with Tertiary Sports Western Australia (TSWA), the Sports Regional Challenge is an annual event held at the South West Campus and provides students the opportunity to represent their university in a regional mutli-sports competition.

More than 70 students participated in a range of sports including soccer, netball and volleyball.

Sport and Recreation Officer, Corey Bessant, who was also the competition manager for the weekend, was extremely happy with the weekend’s events.

“The weather was great and the officials were fantastic, but most importantly it’s amazing to see the support from the students towards this great tournament”.

Final results
1st ECU Joondalup
2nd University of Notre Dame
3rd UWA
4th ECU Mount Lawley
5th ECU Bunbury
