Amanda Draper is raising funds for cancer research
PhD student and sessional lecturer, Ms Amanda Draper is reaching new heights by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa to raise money for cancer.
Inspired by her own sons battle with cancer, Ms Drapers expedition will raise much needed funds for ‘Cure Cancer’ an Australian foundation that fund young and innovative Australian researchers seeking a cure for cancer.
“My son was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 10. It is only because of cancer research that I am lucky enough to still have him today,” said Ms Draper.
“As a single working mother (and foster mother) of six children, I have faced many challenges, but I believe that this challenge can help many other people who are not yet aware of how cancer may affect them, or their families, in the future.”
