Congratulations to Senior Lecturer Richard Bostwick, who won the Education category at the 2011 Western Australia Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards, held last week.

Sponsored by ECU, the awards recognise the exceptional work of those dedicated members of the nursing and midwifery profession within Western Australia.

Coming from an industry background, Richard has been lecturing at ECU since 2008. He has successfully led the ECU undergraduate Mental Health team in rewriting and implementing an innovative teaching and research curriculum that conforms to national industry benchmarks in nursing.

“The move from industry to University has been an unbelievably rewarding experience, and am thrilled to win this award, which is both and exciting and humbling,” said Mr Bostwick.

Richard was the winner of the Executive Dean Award in 2010 and both a Vice-Chancellor’s Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning and Australian Learning and Teaching award this year.
