ECU students from across country WA received a boost this week in the form of a $1000 scholarship from WA owned company Mrs Mac's.

The Mrs Mac's Rural Scholarships are open to students from regional Australia who are required to move away from home to complete their studies. The scholarships provide students with the monetary support needed to complete their studies at ECU.

For second time recipient Erin Kelly the scholarship will give her the opportunity to fulfil her dream of becoming a teacher.

“Uprooting from my hometown of Geraldton at the age of 17 to follow my lifelong ambition of studying secondary education has been an emotional and tough journey.”

“There are definite costs associated with to living away from home, such as rent, fuel, food and study supplies. I appreciate this financial assistance so much. It helps support my passion and drive towards my career, which is a great gift to be given.”

The scholarships were presented by Mrs Mac's Director of Community Services, Mr Richard Howell, who congratulated each student on receiving on their achievements.
