A total of 125 ECU students from the Singapore Cohort celebrated their graduation in front of family and friends at the Raffles Convention Centre, Singapore.

The ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Kerry Cox, newly appointed Executive Dean of Faculty of Education and Arts and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lynne Cohen, and Dean of ECU International, Professor Gensheng Shen, along with staff from all Singapore partners, Australian government officials, and community and business leaders.

Bachelor of Science (Psychology) graduate and the graduate speaker, Ms Deepa Shanmugam, shared her learning journey with her fellow graduates, speaking of her time at ECU and her passion and commitment to lifelong learning.

Following the ceremony, graduates were given the chance to celebrate with family and friends, as well as members of the international ECU community at a special post graduation celebration.

Professor Cox congratulated the students on their achievements and thanked ECU’s partner organisations for working with students to provide the highest standard of learning.

“ECU has worked hard to ensure quality education with the collaboration of our international partners, the SMa Institute for Higher Learning, Advent Links, Academy of Human Development and Singapore Institute of Materials Management, to assist in developing graduates that are valued members of the global community,” Professor Cox said.

“I wish the 2011 Singapore cohort every success in their future careers and encourage them to use the ECU values of integrity, respect, rational inquiry and personal excellence as they work towards becoming globally aware citizens.”

Students from the Perth cohort will celebrate their graduation on Saturday, 21 and Sunday, 22 January 2012.
