Essential student services at ECU available over Christmas

ECU observes an Essential Student Services Period from Monday, 26 December to Friday, 6 January inclusive. Most areas of the University use this time to take a break, however, the following services will be available:

Future students
Student Recruitment will be open on 29 - 30 December and then 3- 6 January. If you are a future student and need advice or assistance, the Student Recruitment Team are available to help you.

Current students
Please note that Student Central, the ECU Contact Centre and Faculty Student Information Office locations on our Joondalup Campus will be open from 9.00am to 4.30pm from 3 - 6 January .

Graduations
For all graduations-related queries, the Corporate Events office will be open on 28 - 30 December and then 3- 6 January via 6304 2011 or email.

Security
Security officers will be on 24-hour duty and can be contacted on extension 3333 or call 6304 3333 if calling from off-campus. The maintenance helpdesk will be operational on extension 5554 throughout the break.

Student swipe-card access will be disabled during the break and any PhD or Postgraduate students needing access during this time need to have gained approval from their Head of School.

Staff access will not be affected but staff are asked to contact Security for safety reasons.

IT
The IT Service Desk will be open at the following times:

  • CLOSED on Saturday 24th December to Wednesday 28th December 2011
  • 9:00am to 4:30pm Thursday 29th December and Friday 30th December 2011.
  • CLOSED on Saturday 31st December 2011 to Monday 2nd January 2012
  • 9:00am to 4:30pm from Tuesday 3rd January to Friday 6th January 2012.

Normal hours resume : 9:30am to 5:30pm for Saturday 7th January and Sunday 8th January 2012

While the IT Service Desk will be operational as stated, only a limited number of IT staff will be on-site with core systems supported on an on-call basis. Non-urgent requests for assistance may not be finalised until after the resumption of full services on Monday 9th January 2012.

The University will be return to normal operations on Monday, 9 January.
