Eighty one students graduated from the joint ECU and Emirates Group Security Centre of Aviation and Security Studies program at a ceremony in Dubai recently.
The event also marks 10 years since the unique diploma program was established, which enables students to complete seminar and independent studies while maintaining employment.
The students graduated from diploma courses in Aviation Security Management and Ground Handling.
The graduation ceremony, held at the Emirates Group Headquarters, was attended by Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline and Group, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and ECU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kerry Cox, who presented diplomas for the University Diploma in Aviation Security Management and the University Diploma in Ground Handling.
Professor Kerry Cox congratulated the graduates on their achievements and praised the leadership of Emirates Airline and Group for the productive and harmonious partnership with ECU.
“We value highly our 10 year partnership with the world-leading airline Emirates, and take great pride in the competence and quality of our graduates,” said Professor Cox.
During the ceremony, His Excellency Mr Pablo Kang, Ambassador for Australia to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, presented His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum with an Award of Recognition from the Australian Government.
The Award was in recognition of improving standards in the global security industry as a result of 10 years of collaboration in education and research in the fields of aviation and security between Emirates Group Security and Australian universities.
