Mary Busby and Nicole Parrotte were some of the early arrivals to Open Day
ECU welcomed almost 6,000 future students, their families and friends, who explored the Joondalup Campus and checked out new courses at the annual Open Day.
This year’s event was a huge success with marquee style tent used for the first time to showcase ECU’s schools and faculties.
Students got the chance to hear about new courses for 2013 which include the Bachelor of Science (Cyber Security), the Bachelor of International Hotel and Resort Management, Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) and Bachelor of Medical Sciences.
Potential students visited ECU’s newly opened engineering building, home to the acclaimed motorsports program and robotics lab.
Real-life emergency scenarios, run by the School of Medical Sciences, gave future students a firsthand look into the world of paramedicine. The 3G Sim Man and Sim Baby showed visitors what it’s like to work with real-life patients.
The Student Experience Zone gave visitors an insight in to university life, with information on exchange programs and the student guild.
The Nova Casanovas were also on hand giving away great prizes through Nova’s Cash Grab competition, with roaming performers keeping guests entertained throughout the day.
