ECU student Adam Deans, part of ECU’s Elite Athlete Program, recently shared his experiences with students at St Stephen’s School in Carramar.

Adam was invited to the school to help students learn more about the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

He is a member of the Perth Wheelcats and first competed for Australia in 2009. Since then Adam has travelled the world playing elite sport.

More than 200 staff and students listened intently to Adam’s stories and watched as he demonstrated his basketball skills in a specially designed wheelchair.

Adam is currently completing a Sports Science Degree at ECU. As an Elite Athlete Friendly University, ECU has an agreement with the Australian Sports Commission to support elite athletes such as Adam in achieving and balancing both their academic and sporting pursuits.
