Anatomy licence for ECU
Monday, 05 November 2012
Students will benefit from the use of human bodies in the teaching of health courses at ECU.
The anatomy licence was granted by the WA Minister for Health, Dr Kim Hames, on Thursday, 1 November 2012, making ECU’s School of Medical Science an authorised school of anatomy in Western Australia.
Head of School of Medical Sciences Associate Professor Moira Sim welcomed the licence.
“This is an important achievement for ECU, and we thank the School of Anatomy, Physiology and Human Biology at the University of Western Australia for their assistance in this,” Associate Professor Sim said.
“It will significantly enhance the learning experience for our students, particularly in the areas of physiotherapy and the health sciences, providing them with a deeper understanding in their studies.”
“We are also grateful for the people who have generously given permission for their bodies to be used to teach students in our University. We take the responsibility of being custodians seriously and recognise the gift bestowed.”
