Tick of approval for research school

Friday, 23 November 2012

Edith Cowan University’s (ECU’s) Graduate Research School (GRS) has received the highest satisfaction rating in a survey comparing 18 institutions in Australia.

GRS scored a satisfaction rating of 97.7 per cent from international post-graduate students participating in the i-graduate International Student Barometer survey for 2012.

Globally, among over 100 participating institutions, this has placed the Graduate Research School highest and second highest respectively over the past two years.

Dean of Graduate Research, Professor Joe Luca said the results showed that the support the School provided for research students was having a positive impact.

“Undertaking a higher degree by research can be a challenge and it’s our aim to ensure each of our students have the support they need to succeed in their studies. It’s great to see that GRS has again received excellent satisfaction ratings from its international students,” Professor Luca said
“Regular research training opportunities, an Australian-first mentoring program and dedicated common rooms are just some examples of the initiatives we have implemented for our students in recent years.”

The i-graduate Student Barometer is the largest annual world-wide student experience study, surveying 198,772 international students from 242 institutions in 16 countries.
