Broadcasting students on TV

Thursday, 13 December 2012

ECU’s broadcasting students are set to star on our TV sets this December, with four student-produced television programs screening on West TV over the Christmas break.

Project Perth was the brainchild of the ECU’s third year students. The lifestyle program combines interviews, feature pieces and footage, all showcasing the unique aspects of Perth City.

Students presented, reported, filmed, edited and scripted the shows with help from experienced broadcasters Andrea Burns and Undergraduate Broadcasting Course Coordinator Mr David Smith.

"I'm impressed with the quality of the programs as the students worked hard to get them right. To have four shows broadcast is a tribute to them" Mr Smith said.

Each of the shows will air four times over the Christmas break, with the first shown on Saturday, 29 December at 7.30pm. The shows replace West TV's most popular show Undercurrent during the New Year break.
