Essential student services at ECU available over Christmas

ECU observes an Essential Student Services Period from Monday, 24 December to Friday, 4 January inclusive. Most areas of the University use this time to take a break, however, the following services will be available:

Future students
Student Recruitment will be open on 31 December – 4 January. If you are a future student and need advice or assistance, the Student Recruitment Team are available to help you.

Current students
Please note that Student Central, the ECU Contact Centre and Faculty Student Information Office locations on our Joondalup Campus will be open from 9.00am to 4.30pm from 2 - 4 January.

Graduations
For all graduations-related queries, the Corporate Events office will be open on 27 - 31 December and then 2 - 4 January, between 9.00am to 4.00pm, via 6304 2011 or on email.

Security
Security officers will be on 24-hour duty and can be contacted on extension 3333 (internal calls) or 6304 3333 (off-campus). The maintenance helpdesk will be operational on extension 5554 throughout the break.

Student swipe-card access will be disabled during the break. Any PhD or postgraduate students needing access during this time should gain approval from their Head of School.

Staff access will not be affected but staff are asked to contact Security if accessing campus during this time for safety reasons.

ECU International
 The ECU International office will be operating on limited staff during the following periods:

  • Monday, 24 December 2012
  • Thursday, 27 to Friday, 28 December 2012
  • Monday, 31 December 2012
  • Wednesday, 2 to Friday, 4 January 2013

Any international enquires during this time are to be directed to the ECU International office on 6304 5377. The office will also be taking walk-in enquires form 9.00am to 4.30pm from Wednesday, 2 to Friday, 4 January.

IT
The IT Service Desk will be open at the following times:

  • CLOSED on Saturday, 22 December to Sunday, 30 December 2012
  • 9:00am to 4:30pm Monday, 31 December 2012.
  • CLOSED on Tuesday, 1 January 2013
  • 9:00am to 4:30pm from Wednesday, 2 January to Friday, 4 January 2013.

Normal office hours (9:30am to 5:30pm) resume for Saturday, 5 January and Sunday, 6 January 2013. While the IT Service Desk will be operational as stated, only a limited number of IT staff will be on-site with core systems supported on an on-call basis. Non-urgent requests for assistance may not be finalised until after the resumption of full services on Monday, 7 January 2013.

The University will be return to normal operations on Monday, 7 January.
