ECU is pleased to welcome esteemed broadcaster Greg Pearce to ECU as he takes up the position of lecturer for the postgraduate broadcasting program.
A broadcasting veteran, Mr Pearce has been in the media industry for more than 40 years. His first job in media was at a local Bunbury radio station at just 17 years of age.
He got his big break at 21, filling in when the main TV presenter became ill. Since then he has held positions with Channels 10, 9 and ABC as a news presenter, both here in WA and in the eastern states.
Mr Pearce was the inaugural presenter of Channel 10’s News at 5, which he held for 15 years. In 2008, he took up the position of lead news anchor alongside Dixie Marshall, a role which he held until last year.
Mr Pearce said he is looking forward to the challenge of his new role at ECU.
“It’s exciting. I’m really looking forward to the chance to give budding young presenters an insight into the turbulent, but always fascinating, world of radio and television,” Mr Pearce said.
He will be taking over from newsreader Peter Holland, who held the position since 2005.
