ECU’s Degrees Brewery will again host the unique ‘Science at the pub’ event as part of National Science Week celebrations.
Science Week aims to educate communities across the country about all things scientific and this free event will be no different, albeit with an enticing amber twist.
The Joondalup Campus-based Pilot Malting and Micro-brewing facility will offer guests the chance to sample ECU beers, while being enlightened about the science behind malting and brewing by resident master brewer, Hugh Dunn.
ECU-made beers have been recognised nationally and internationally, winning silver medals at the 2011 International Beer Challenge for ‘Degrees Dubbel’ and at the Australian International Beer Awards for ‘Degrees Rauchbier’.
Sponsored by the recently renamed Faculty of Health, Engineering and Science, the event will include a tour of the brewery and pilot malting facility and some light snacks.
Date: Wednesday, 14 August
Time: 6.30pm onwards
Venue: ECU Brewery, Joondalup Campus, 270 Joondalup Drive, Joondalup
For more information and to register, contact Faculty of Health, Engineering and Science Community Officer, Jason Blight. Places are limited.
