The launch of THE LINK website is the first step in making Perth’s northern corridor the next global innovation hub.

THE LINK is a joint initiative between the City of Joondalup and Edith Cowan University (ECU).

It will help to drive innovation and business growth in and around Joondalup, encouraging the brightest minds in research and business to work together to create novel solutions and job-creating enterprises.

THE LINK website will enable businesses and investors to access information on business opportunities in the city and connect with ECU research expertise.

City of Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said Joondalup was uniquely positioned to attract new businesses to the area as it already incorporates a university, large training provider, hospital, police academy, retail and public transport.

“We are very excited by the arrival of THE LINK as it will encourage and assist industry-research collaboration, promote innovative business activity, and raise awareness of Joondalup as a world class business investment location,” Mayor Pickard said.

Professor Chapman said collaborating with industry is a win-win, with researchers helping businesses to solve challenges and industry providing ECU students with the experience they need to be work ready.

“With world-class facilities such as our Cyber Security Institute, Electronic Science Research Institute and Health Simulation Centre, ECU is well-equipped to drive innovation in the northern suburbs,” Professor Chapman said.
