More than 7,000 prospective students and their families visited ECU’s Mount Lawley Campus on Sunday, 2 August 2009 for the biggest ECU Open Day event in recent years.
Prospective students, their families and members of the community braved the weather to find out about the courses available at ECU and go behind the scenes to check out ECU’s state-of-the-art learning facilities.
Family, friends and supporters lined the main street in Bunbury to celebrate the graduation of 140 ECU South West students on Saturday, 18 April 2009.
Family and friends joined the ECU community at graduation ceremonies for Faculty of Business and Law, and Faculty of Computing, Health and Science students at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre on Sunday, 22 March.
On Thursday, 19 March 2009, ECU staff, students, and members of the ECU community were provided with the opportunity to attend an inaugural lecture by guest speaker Ros Worthington OAM, entitled It’s not all about you – true leaders change the lives of others!
Harmony Week is held in March each year, enabling us to recognise and respect our differences, embrace diversity and celebrate multiculturalism. ECU staff and students celebrated with multicultural food stalls and musical performances on all campuses.
November 2008 saw the first entry by the ECU Motorsports team in the Australasian Formula SAE competition. The ECU team finished a highly credible 15th, and won the 2008 Best Team Endeavour trophy with experienced judges from the USA saying the ECU car was the best built first year car they had ever seen.
Students, staff and members of the ECU community attended the Edith Cowan Memorial Lecture on Monday, 9 March 2009, presented by Dr Penny Flett as part of the University’s International Women’s Day celebrations.
ECU campuses were buzzing with activity this week with the annual Orientation Week and Welcome Day festivities. Hundreds of students turned out to learn more about university life.
