Surf Science students lend a hand
ECU Surf Science students gave up their time on Saturday to help disabled youths surf the great waves of Bunker Bay in WA’s South West.
‘Surfers Helping Surfers’ is a regular event for the Disabled Surfers’ Association.
Surf Science Coordinator Rob Holt was on hand to coordinate volunteers from the program and encourage ECU students to get involved.
“Our program is a great example of the ways ECU engages with the community,” he said.
“Students participate in environmental conservation projects, coordinate an annual Surf Competition for regional youth and participate in programs like Surfers Helping Surfers,” he said.
Students come from around the world to participate in the Surf Science program, which is offered from the ECU campuses in Bunbury and Margaret River.
