Solid Kids, Solid Schools
Reducing the effects of bullying among Aboriginal school children living in rural areas
While previous bullying interventions have been successfully implemented in urban areas and for non-aboriginal children, it is unknown how Aboriginal children and adults conceptualise childhood bullying and what school/ community intervention programs are appropriate. The aim of this study is to formatively develop and evaluate a primary school and community-based bullying prevention and reduction program that is culturally secure for rural schools with higher proportions of Aboriginal students. Material for the Solid Kids, Solid Schools program is currently under development and will be trialled during 2009.
