Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kerry Cox and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Research and Advancement), Professor John Finlay-Jones celebrated the research achievements of staff at the Celebration of Research Success event, held at the Joondalup Campus on Monday, 1 November.

The event was opened by Professor Cox, who highlighted the importance of research to the University, and was followed by a presentation by Professor Finlay-Jones who discussed ECU’s strategic research initiatives, which include fostering engagement and partnership with industry and celebrating achievement.

Both congratulated staff on their achievements, announcing the Industry Collaboration Grant Winners and the Early Career Grant Winners.

Professor Finlay-Jones then announced the Top Research Activity Index (RAI) performers for 2009, an internal scheme which rewards research performance.

Staff also acknowledged the achievements of the recent Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Grant winners, ARC Linkage Grant winners, National Health and Medical Research (NHMRC) Grant winners and the Australian Competitive Grant winners.

All winners received certificates before celebrating their achievements with fellow colleagues after the event.
