Child Health Promotion Research Centre, Associate Professor Stacey Waters
ECU’s Child Health Promotion Research Centre (CHPRC) is a multi-disciplinary research team led by Associate Professor Stacey Waters.
The work of the CHPRC is documented in this edition of ECU’s innovative series, Research@ECU.
The Centre aims to improve the overall physical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of children and their families through high-quality applied research.
The research team is nationally recognised for its school and community-based programs in the areas of:
- bullying and aggression prevention and mental health promotion;
- drug use control;
- road safety and injury control; and
- promotion of healthy weight for the prevention of overweight and obesity in children.
CHPRC, Director Associate Professor Stacey Waters is passionate about the promotion of child and adolescent health and wellbeing.
Her work has been widely published in scientific literature and she has won over $1 million in competitive research funding.
