ECU-based Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet is the focus of the next instalment in the Research@ECU series.

As a part of Kurongkurl Katitjin, this innovative internet resource informs practice and policy in Indigenous health by making research and other knowledge readily accessible.

HealthInfoNet Director Professor Neil Thomson is the focus of the new video. He speaks about how HealthInfoNet is contributing to improving the health status of Indigenous Australians.

“Working in the area of translational research with a population health focus, the HealthInfoNet, now in its 15th year, is helping to ‘close the gap’ in health between Indigenous and other Australians,” Professor Thomson said.

“HealthInfoNet makes research and other information available in a form that has immediate, practical utility for practitioners and policy makers in the area of Indigenous health enabling them to make decisions based on the best available evidence.”

HealthInfoNet was recently a finalist in the National Drug and Alcohol Awards in the Excellence in Research category.
