Commercialisation clinic

In this drop in session, you're welcome to come in and have some coffee, biscuits, and a chat with the commercialisation team to cover any aspect of research commercialisation, including:

  • Does my research have commercial potential?
  • Should I be patenting it?
  • What are my potential rewards for commercialising?
  • What sources of funding are there to help me develop my idea?
  • What support can the commercialisation office give me?

Roger Plumb

Roger is an experienced business professional who has worked extensively in both the UK and Australia. His early career was in IT, afterwhich he joined a high technology business, working in various operational roles to Board level and taking it from start-up to a full London stock market listing. He then moved into management consulting, working with small and large organisations in both public and private sectors. Assignments covered strategy, performance improvement, organisational design, cost management and processimprovement. He also has investment experience, and was part of a small team which set up PwC Venture Partners, a venture capital unit making investments in early stage technology businesses. This role included providing mentoring to the management team. He is currently working as Manager of Research Commercialisation at Edith Cowan University (ECU). Working across all research areas to identify and exploit intellectual property generated by ECU researchers.
