So, how much is a life worth? Well nobody really knows, but economists use various estimation techniques to provide governments with a ‘value of statistical life’ that they can use in their cost-benefit analyses. Dr Margaret Giles introduces common methods for valuing life as well as expose some problems with these methods in this presentation
