ePoster Competition

Research e-Poster Competition

As part of 2018 Research Week, Edith Cowan University (ECU) is hosting a Research e-Poster Competition for PhD students and Early Career Researchers at our partner universities. The aim is to promote greater collaboration by featuring research projects and researchers across our institutions.

ECU is offering 12x $250(AUD) prizes for the best Research e-Posters.

Submit your Research e-Posters by Monday, 10 September 2018 to be in the competition.

e-Posters will be displayed on the ECU Research Week website.

  • Participants must submit a single e-poster that showcases their research project.
  • Participants must be current PhD students or Early Career Researchers at an ECU China or East Java partner university. Early Career Researchers are students/academics who completed their PhDs in 2016/2017/2018.
  • Participants can be from any Discipline/School/Faculty.
  • Winning e-posters will be announced on Friday 14 September 2018 on the ECU Research Week website.
  • The result of the competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Winners will be notified via the email address provided on their entries and their names will be published on the ECU Research Week website.
  • ECU may choose to use or display e-posters in promotional activities/materials beyond Research Week.
  • Proof of identity and, PhD enrolment or Early Career Researcher status, must be provided by winners to receive their prize.

  • ECU is a member of WAEJUC – East Java Partner Universities: Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember; Universita Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jawa Timur; Universitas Airlangga; Universitas Brawijaya; Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang; Universitas Jember; Universitas Negeri Malang; Universitas Negeri Surabaya;  Universitas Trunojoyo Madura; University Islam Negeri Sunan Ampel Surabaya.
  • All e-posters must be submitted by email to: grs_strategic@ecu.edu.au
  • e-Posters must be received by Monday 10 September 2018 to be eligible for the prize.
  • All e-Posters must follow these guidelines to be eligible for the prize:
    • Language: English.
    • Format: Digital (JPEG, PDF), max.10MB, max. 1200x720 pixels. Do not embed audio/video in your e-poster.
    • e-Posters can include a combination of text, images, graphs, charts, tables, illustrations, drawings, etc.
    • e-Posters must include:
      • title of the research or project
      • student/researcher’s name and email
      • student/researcher’s university name
    • Recommended sections (use as appropriate):
      • introduction/background
      • methods/approach
      • data/findings/outcomes
      • implications/conclusions/significance
    • If your research does not have data/findings/outcomes/conclusions yet, you can include your expectations/predictions instead.
    • Must include references/acknowledgments for any resources used to create the poster, including citation of any images.
  • Communication:
    • Does the e-poster communicate the research effectively to a broad/non-specialist audience?
  • Visual Impact:
    • Is the e-poster clear and easy to read?
    • Is the e-poster attractive?
    • Does the e-poster make the viewer want to know more about the research?
  • If you are currently enrolled in a PhD in your home country, you can study part of your degree at ECU by applying for our Joint PhD program. You must spend a minimum of 12 months at ECU.
  • For students in China, a CSC-ECU Scholarship is available to support your stay in Australia.
